Female Genital Mutilation

Female genital mutilation (FGM) or female genital circumcision or cutting is most commonly known as the complete or partial removal of the external female genitalia or other injury to female genital organs for a non-medical reason. There are no health benefits of FGM as it interferes with the natural functions of a woman's and girl's bodies, such as severe pain, shock,hemorrhage,tetanus or sepsis (bacterial infection), urine retention, open sores in the genital region and damage to nearby genital tissue, recurrent bladder and urinary tract infections, cysts, extended danger of infertilitychildbirth issues and new child deaths
